Harry Potter And The Quiet Book

Harry Potter
And The Quiet Book

Took long enough right?
BUT
I think it was worth the wait...
AND
This might be my favorite quiet book yet...
Soooooo...
Here it is.
My Harry Potter Quiet Book

Cover/Page 1

Page 2

A felt acceptance letter with green print and Hogwarts logo.

Page 3

Finger Puppets!!!!

Page 4

Ron's arm rotates to help him use his wand.

Page 5

Follow the right course to get Harry and Ron to school.

Page 6

Maybe I went a little overboard on this page,
and maybe it took me a million years to crochet this tiny scarf...
and maybe you can open up Harry's cape to see his school outfit underneath...

Page 7

Destroy the spiders by un-snapping them from the page.
Gross green guts!

Page 8

So i'm pretty proud of this page!
I attached a piece of elastic to Harry
and the page so he can sling shot across it to catch the snitch

An action shot.
He gets going real fast.

You found the Triwizard Cup!!

I love her felt hair!

  8. Another hit, Julie! I like that you're going rated PG-13 with Emma Wtason in her underwear! I can't wait to see the "art" page in the Titanic quiet book!

  11. Nice idea and execution, and it looks fun to play with. However, I find it more than a little disappointing that, while both Ron and Harry are assigned "active" tasks -- practicing magic and playing Quidditch, respectively -- Hermione is restricted to adorning herself for the ball. In your "Star Wars" quiet book, Princess Leia's only function is to be rescued. In your "Star Trek" quiet book, neither of the two regular female crew members even made the cut for inclusion into your design, in any capacity. What is up with that? Was it a deliberate choice, or unconscious?

Part of the appeal of science fiction/fantasy, for many of us, is that women get to participate fully too. I wish your work reflected that, for the sake of the little girls who will play with these.

    1. I really love this reply because it was my own complaint too. I wish she could have done something more active, or at least something not so clothes related. Books/library related even.

  20. Hey! I'm in the middle of a quiet book myself. I love how you embroidered all the details. Gorgeous! I was wondering where you got your felt? Some of the stuff in craft stores is awfully cheap. It stretches and is even see through. Have you got a good resource that doesn't cost an arm and a leg? I'd love some that is a wool blend.
